Support for students

ACM SIGWEB is kindly offering a total of US$6000 in funding for Student Travel Awards at DocEng 2014. These awards are intended for student authors who have papers accepted at DocEng 2014 in any of the tracks (full papers, short papers,  posters, demos) as well as participants of the Doctoral Consortium and who attend the conference and personally present their research.

Student awards are intended to cover a portion only of the student’s overall expenses. The sizes of the awards in general will depend on the number of qualified applicants, and the amount of individual awards may vary depending on the distance travelled and the kind and ranking of the papers.

Students may submit applications prior to learning whether or not their papers have been accepted. However, travel awards will only be given to students who have an accepted paper, note or poster and who will be presenting that work themselves, or who present their PhD project at the Doctoral Consortium ProDoc@DocEng.

Applications for these awards should be submitted as soon as possible. To apply for a SIGWEB Student Travel Award, the student should submit the following:

1.     A completed application form

2.     A resume

3.     A letter of support from the student’s research advisor

The application form can be downloaded as Word Document or PDF Document.  The form contains the address (email, fax) for submitting applications. Electronic Submission is greatly preferred. Please do not send your application to the DocEng2014 email address.

Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2014 (Midnight Hawaii time).  Late applications will not be considered.  Award decisions will be made and applicants will be notified by July 14, 2014.
